Midwest Topology Seminar, third and final announcement. The next Midwest Topology Seminar will be at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond, Indiana on Saturday, February 1, 2003. All talks will be in Anderson 148. The program will be as follows: 9:00: Refreshments -- Anderson 148 9:30: Maria Basterra, University of New Hampshire "Cohomology theories of commutative S-algebras" 11:00: Mark Hovey, Wesleyan University "The structure of E(n)_*E(n) comodules" 12:00: Lunch -- location to be announced in the morning. 2:30: Mike Mandell, University of Chicago "Tensor products of permutative categories" 4:00: Bill Dwyer, University of Notre Dame "Gross-Hopkins duality and Poincare Duality" 6:00: Party at the home of Tony Elmendorf and Linda Austern; directions will be available at the talks. All times are Central Standard, which is the same as Chicago time, and one hour behind most of Indiana at this time of year. TRAVEL TO HAMMOND: If you are traveling by air, fly into either O'Hare or Midway airports in Chicago. If you are doing so, please contact me (Tony Elmendorf, aelmendo@math.purdue.edu) as soon as possible and I will give you further directions for local ground transportation. By car: From all points, proceed to Interstate 80/94 (NOT the Indiana Toll Road, which is I-90), Indiana exit 2, Indianapolis Boulevard; this is about 2 miles east of the Illinois state line. Take the northbound exit. Go north on Indianapolis Boulevard to 169th street (this is numbered according to the Chicago grid). Turn right. The next light is Purdue Calumet; turn right into the parking lot. The talks will be in the Anderson Building, which is the first building on your right. Anderson 148 is on the ground level at the corner where the two perpendicular corridors meet. Park anywhere accessible to you not marked as a Handicap spot or 15 minute parking.
