Title: Applications of braid groups to problems in topology

Time: Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon

Abstract: This survey talk will address recent applications of Artin's braid groups. Some of the applications give connections between classical homotopy theory, low-dimensional topology, and cohomology of groups.
